hippocratic facies hip·po·crat·ic facies (hĭp'ə-krāt'ĭk) n. A pinched expression of the face, with sunken eyes, hollow cheeks and temples, and relaxed lips, observed in one dying after an exhausting illness. Also called hippocratic face.
